I have just found this new section so I will kick it off,

I've owned and raced a few Lotus cars since my first Elan S2 in 1976 which I unfortunately wrecked a year later. Following on in chronological order I have had an S1 Elan another S2 Elan a 61 FF1600 a Giugiaro Esprit Turbo which I had for 20 years an M100 Elan and currently own an S4 Elan.

I’ve got an MGB and I’ve been on this site for a while with that and then realized there was one for Lotus so I jumped over here since I have a plus 2S 130. It’s kind of a garage queen with the MG being one I feel like I can just jump in and drive around in. I’ve had the plus 2S 130 since 1989 and did a body off restoration of it. So pretty proud. My almost 4-year-old grandson pretty much inaugurated me into the idea that maybe the car wouldn’t always be that way. They were visiting from California a couple weeks ago and unbeknownst to me my son had a routine with his son that he could take the key and get in the car and start it while his dad was wrapping things up in the house. My son was going to take a spin in the +2 and as we walked to the car you can imagine my horror as I heard the car start! It does start so easily with just the key when warm and thank goodness I had not left it in gear but used the hand brake instead – totally saved on that one. Gordon.
