Registry: 1964 Lotus Elan

I have been looking for a Series 2 Lotus Elan for a while and finally found one that looked like it met my criteria. The car is an original RHD car which was imported by its owner when he moved to British Columbia from the UK in the eary 80s. Since coming to North America it has had two other owners before me, one in Washington and Oregon, then to its previous owner in California who started restoring the car to be a good, reliable driver, taking it back to a more original appearance. Before coming to the US the car was fitted with a Spyder spaceframe (one of the first ones built) and had received several upgrades along the way including coilover rear suspension, Sprint cams, a roll cage (removed by the previous owner so I don't have to), an alternator, high torque starter, and some useful extra Smiths gauges on the dash. The car runs and drives very well and aside from some minor electrical gremlins that I've sorted out with a new harness, it seems a great handling, driving, example of the cars. There are definitely still a few things to do and sort out. The car will have to be repainted at some time and there are a few minor touchups and repairs I still need to do, but there's no rush to do it. For now I'm just enjoying the drive!
