Art McKinley's 1974 MG MGB
|
Owned since ~2007. Bought on ebay so very aware of how hard it is to buy remotely. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning this, lots of time spent tweaking and also some major projects, rebuilt engine, added OD trans, Composite rear springs, 15" wheels, etc.
Most of my use is local, driving to work on back roads, beach, etc. Car is 95% in my mind. It always needs a bit of care given its age and pedigree. Interior is nice, a few minor dash cracks, drivers seat has a tear on the lower seat back.
I think this is a steal, fully developed car in great shape. Has never been rusty, has been repainted. Was probably 'tired' at one point in its life and I can see where some minor rust repair was done. Paint is not perfect, a very nice driver. Please ask for pictures, I have plenty, can't seem to post more than 4 here.
Have all documentation of engine build, bored 0.060 over, new bearings, hardened valve seats, new rocker shaft, rocker arms resurfaced, new cam and lifters.new oil pump, rebuilt carbs, distributor. Original engine ran fine but had a crack in the head and I was up for an upgraded engine. Crank only needed polishing. This was done in 2010, about 10K miles ago?
