Are you planning on taking this thing out very often? Lol just kidding. Im getting ready to pull my 1500 to fix a rear seal leak and this is a good idea Dr. Bob

I'm hoping I won't have to ever pull it again, but.... Had it in and out way too many times during the build. I did use some quick release exhaust clamps that makes it a little easier but still a major undertaking. In any event it's in the the shed now until spring so I'm off the hook for a while. Good luck with the rear seal. Beware of the "might as well" projects when you have that open engine bay. :-)

I have a new clutch in already. My clutch froze after the car sat in a dry aluminum building for twenty years. Last year it was repaired and changed. That would be my might as well project. I will clean it up and paint the engine while its out. Im gonna try to see if I can determine the actual place its leaking from befor pulling it. Im gonna degrease it this week, put some of that stuff that illuminates under blue light and see if I can see the actual bleedingsite . My pre retired career was in medicine.

Robert that dye/black light should do the trick. Good diagnosis, comes from your medical background. I"m retired also 4 years now from branding and graphic design. I'm plenty busy and don't miss working one bit.

What kind of engine do you have in that?

it's a 1994 Toyota 4AGE known as a Silvertop. Its a four cylinder 20 valve from Japan, never sold here, was used in their "sporty" Corolla AE101. Gets about 150 hp. It is slightly lighter than the 1098 it replaced.
